Chinese Ink in Water
This artwork is a film on the movement of Chinese Ink in water.
Chinese ink is important and significant in the history of Chinese art as it has been used and passed on for centuries and it is special for it’s long-lasting capabilities in art forms such as Chinese Ink painting, Calligraphy scripts and more. Even in this day and age, Chinese ink is still widely used around the world. This inspired me to make a film to bring awareness to the medium, Chinese Ink. Thus, this film encaptures the beauty and the movement of Chinese ink in water.
To challenge myself, instead of just dropping the ink into water, I have experimented with 3 different methods. 1st: Ink drop 2nd: Brush dip 3rd: string.
Using these methods, I try to compose the outcome to look like a Chinese Landscape. In my opinion, the execution did not come out great but the beauty of Chinese ink in water still retains and that will never change.
